Barack Obama vows to not raise taxes on Americans earning less than $250000. ——————————————– American families saw their real incomes fall to an average of $70700 in 2004, down 2.3 percent from 2001, according to a Federal Reserve survey of consumer finances released Thursday. Average net worth rose 6.3 percent during the same period to $448200, buoyed by the often-dramatic appreciation of house values and the increased rate of homeownership. All figures in the Survey of Consumer Finances, which is released every three years, are adjusted for inflation. “This is a tremendously detailed, comprehensive look at the American family’s balance sheet and it ain’t pretty,” said Jared Bernstein, senior economist at the Economic Policy Institute, a liberal research group in Washington. Bernstein pointed to the disparity between the economy’s robust performance during the three-year period and the benefits — or lack thereof — reaped by wage earners. “Between 2001 and 2004, productivity was up almost 12 percent,” he said. “That’s supposed to mean a significant improvement in living standards, but in terms of net worth, you just don’t see it.” Growth in income and net worth during the previous period measured by the consumer finance report, 1998-2001, was markedly stronger. From 1998 to 2001, average incomes grew 17.3 percent and median incomes grew 9.5 percent, while average net worth rose 28.7 percent and the median rose 10.3 percent. Medians, or …

@Calhounism They don’t care because they still think that they are going to get free healthcare.
Matthew
Obama isn’t raising taxes on the rich. It’s the middle class that is getting killed.
Debbie
Excellent clip find!
Look people, Jim cramer.. nice guy, i watch him, but he’s a puppet.
Don’t get mad at obama on the economy, get mad at Goldman Sachs! They run this joint, do the connections your self you will see. It’s a very profitable company so if your looking to invest i’d wait for the dip here soon
Angela
No you should be taxed more its obvious you just hate america.
Joan
@peapodsss
The point is he is a liar. You know obummer smokes right? You are a fool. So, since worthless fucks like you take from the system and never put in to the system, you should be taxed the highest. You need to give the money you wont work for…back to society.
Jonathan
it only makes sense if youre going to kill yourself via lung cancer you might as well give the money you wont be using back t society.
Leo
(Read my lips) “not one single dime!”
Did anyone REALLY believe that, even back in 2008? LOLOLOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michelle
I think that if the govt really did a shit about this country they would keep out of everything.
Shoulda let all the car companies fall. Something grander would have came of it if they did.
Lord forbid America starts making decent automobiles that are affordable and last!
Lord forbid all those CEO’s not make their goals for the year!
Rita
YOU LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don
Oh for God’s sake, get your quotes right.
Timothy
fuckin bullshit.
My family of nine kids is a lower middle class family full of hard working citizens. Obama has already raised taxes and it is hurting our family.
FUCK OBAMA
Emily
READ THE HEALTH CAR BILL THAT PASSED THE HOUSE!
You will be paying a medical devise tax on stuff like condoms, tampoons, and toothbushes. Just to name a few.
“I will not raise taxes on those making under $250.000″ — obama
He sure is going to creat some TAXES, not to mention he already raised taxes on the smokers back in february 61 cents a Pack.
Francisco
Any politician will not go right out and say “I will increase taxes on the middle class” because they know that if they did so, they wouldn’t get elected. Instead, they say “I will increase taxes on the wealthy”. Well, yeah! because they have the money. Where do they get the money? It trickles down to the consumer. It’s an indirect tax increase on the middle class. And in 1 year,we’ll complain why gas, food and clothing is so expensive.
Lewis
I don’t think it is a matter of a better option..I think that is actually the point. With all the “career politicians” and the system the way it is..you have to be dishonest, you have to slant what you say, and you have to bow down the the elite just to get in office/ become a president. The system is at a point that it is too big for any man as president to change. To me that is what is so scary…the revolution it will take from the people to force a change…that is scary!!!
Leslie
that all those other taxes make him a liar. He made at least 2 statements about how he would not raise ANY taxes.
My view of cap and tax is that it will kill 1000s of Americans. As it stands now 100s die every year because they can not afford to heat or cool their homes. So when the cost skyrocket so will the deaths.
Phyllis
Thanks for the reply. What is your view on the second part of my statement? Do you see that as being true or some flaws in that line of thinking? Would love to hear your opinion.
Gene
No he specifically said several time that it was not just income tax but NO taxes.
Christine
Such bull. He is only talking about “INCOME TAX” here. Let’s use a bit of common sense. He says I won’t raise any income tax on you…BUT….I will put a extra tax on buying songs on itunes, a pack of smokes. Cap and Trade?.. You think any company will just eat that cost?.. No it will all be passed down to consumers. What he should have said. I will not tax your income but I will make Ameren UE charge you more because of cap and trade…then get it from them
Hazel
notice that most obama bumper stickers are always on japanese cars
Doris
Im still waiting for all of my promised “Change”. I voted for McCain, and every time i see someone with a “change we can believe in” bumper sticker i want to run over to their car with a sharpie and write “When?” on it.
Agnes
LOL, people who believed him voted for him. I, on the other hand, didn’t vote for him because he’s a liar. Things that he mentioned are lies and no way achievable unless taxes are raised on everyone, so yeah, i wasn’t surprised. And those who voted for him, are stupid. Obama knows how to speak but he doesn’t know how to lie.
Tony
Wow. Hard to believe anyone actually believed him.
One year later and a tsunami of various taxes….
Tara
Please do wake up.
Roberta
What a liar.
Adrian
How the fuck do you figure? Blacks make up, in the most generous estimates, 13-15% of the population in the U.S. So, how the hell do you expect the population to jump by 68 goddamned percent (204,000,000) in 16 years, when blacks have the highest abortion rate in the U.S.?!?! Dead white people owe dead black people. I don’t owe you shit, you arrogant prick! My ancestors were indians and european immigrants who moved here well after the turn of the 20th century, so go fuck yourself!
