Is “Loan Insurance” a legal way to obtain difficult financing in the US?

Bigdadda asked:

With poor credit and the desire to refinance my consumer debt to aid my cash flow and get out of debt I am bombarded with offers of great loans if only I obtain loan insurance….I am very, very skeptical of this and believe it to be a scam….has anyone been successful with this type of arrangement ? Is it legal in the US ?

it is illegal for loan company to ask for money upfront. this sounds like a scam to me. something that u should report to the ftc 877-987-3728. i was taken for a ride through a scam artist and just wont to get the word out as much as possible. it is illegal for a loan company to ask for money upfront
